ABOUT ME

Born and raised in the suburbs of Miami, Florida, my interest in film and television arose out of his own interests and family background. The genesis of my career, however, began at the age of 15, when I was accepted into Miami Palmetto Senior High School's T.V. Production program. During my three years of T.V. Production, I worked on numerous short videos and broadcasts, earning me two TV Production awards in 2013 and 2015, respectively. After graduating from high school, I enrolled in Miami-Dade College, where I took up screenwriting as a hobby and served as co-producer and second assistant director on Daniela Tomas' short film "Quimera." In April 2017, I graduated from Miami-Dade with an A.A. in Mass Communications and Journalism, and transferred to Florida International University.

Also in 2017, I joined For Reel? Pictures, a nonproft organization dedicated to building filmmakers in the State of Florida. It was through For Reel? where I wrote and produced my first short film "Phony Pop-Up," and served as production assistant on Jack Kierski's short film "Behind The Curtain." Simultaneously, I participated in Florida International University's Film Festival Community Forum, where I collaborated with fellow FIU film students and participated in various film-related workshops. It was through the forum where I landed the role of Charlie Reed in Jorge Coll's "A Mime of a Time," and participated in the 2019 Florida International University Screenwriting Competition.

In February 2019, I quit For Reel? Pictures and went independent. Shortly thereafter, I starred in Gabriel Lezama's "A Tiny Criticism" before producing "Birthday Firing" and "Fear From Behind" that same spring, the latter film in collaboration with Jorge Coll. In May 2019, I graduated from Florida International University with a B.A. in Communication Arts and moved to Palm Springs, California, where I landed a job at Regency Cathedral City 10, started volunteering for Southwest Church, and continued making short films. In December 2019, I wrote "The Spirit of Bruce Lucker," a story about a man's perceptions and relationship being tested when he encounters spiritual and living reminders of a long, lost friend, as my sample screenplay to apply for UCR Palm Desert's MFA in Creative Writing program

Sometime during 2019, I took up plane spotting as a hobby to enhance my cinematography skills.

Ringing into 2020, I continued my wave of short films, beginning with "Taking Off from Miami," an experimental short of an airplane taking off, before exploring writer's block through "Time to Unblock." On February 27th, 2020, while on layover in Atlanta, I got accepted into UCR Palm Desert, and took up playwriting as my cross-genre. A week later,  I made my first trip report: A Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta to Palm Springs. That same month, I also entered "The Spirit of Bruce Lucker" into the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition.

Thrusting through 2020 and into 2021, in spite of COVID-19, I continued making short films, plane spotting videos, and trip reports. In March 2021, I finished two feature-length screenplays within a week of each other: "The Brush of Happiness," a screenplay about a college student who rediscovers a lost hobby and after losing everything, and "Airport Mime Hunt," a screenplay about an airport cop taking it upon himself to catch a murderous mime before he flees the country. While "The Brush of Happiness" was submitted to the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition, "Airport Mime Hunt" served as my thesis for my MFA in creative writing.

In January 2022, I left Regency Cathedral City 10 and became a ramp agent for Unifi Aviation. In June, I delivered a graduate lecture on Movie Characters' needs and wants for UCR Palm Desert and graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing and Writing For The Performing Arts. On top of that, I pitched an idea for a potential TV series titled "RAMP" to writer/producer Joe Loya at a UCR Palm Desert residency.

After completing my MFA, I started writing "RAMP," rewrote "Airport Mime Hunt," and produced more trip reports, including my first trip reports with Southwest Airlines. In December 2022, I was a teaching assistant at UCR Palm Desert for their Fall Residency.

Working my way into 2023, I focused primarily on trip reports and writing "RAMP" to find my niche in filmmaking and screenwriting. Along the way, I flew Alaska Airlines' inaugural flight from Palm Springs to New York City's JFK Airport. In addition, I moved to from Palm Springs to Yucaipa, primarily to be closer to Los Angeles.

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY WRITING

"RAMP" - A potential TV Series

"Jason and Ashley's Big Move" - A screenplay

My style of storytelling emphasizes character psychology, thus motivating ordinary people in extraordinary situations to bridge the gap between story, character, and rhythm.
